1. General information
The purpose of this subject is to prepare teachers to acquire the keys and resources that make possible a pertinent literary education for secondary school students, to reflect on the strategies required for their teaching practice and to intellectually train university students in the literary discourse of young people: corpus of texts, historical journey, perspectives of analysis and interpretation of the works. Its objective is to analyse with aesthetic and formative criteria the different types of literary discourse that make up the corpus of juvenile literature. Mastery of literary theory acquired in previous stages is required.
These approaches include the following SDGs: Health and well-being, Quality education, Gender equality, Reduction of inequalities, Sustainable cities and communities, Peace, justice. The acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides the competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement.
2. Learning results
1. Describe and analyse the basic contents of juvenile literature and apply them in a problem-solving context.
2. Value the importance of juvenile literature from a phenomenological, cultural, aesthetic and epistemological point of view.
3. Analyse and prioritize the different contents of juvenile literature according to their formative value.
4. Raise awareness and develop critical consciousness of gender stereotypes in youth literature.
The aim of this subject is to achieve a reasoned appreciation of juvenile literature as a valuable aesthetic production and as a formative channel for secondary school students. The proposed results are essential to provide students with theoretical, didactic and methodological knowledge that will allow them to successfully carry out their teaching task , as well as to approach research in the field of juvenile literature and literary education, both in the field of the construction of identities in the adolescent stage and in the formation of the literary reader and, therefore, in the development of reading habits in Secondary Education.

Juvenile literature and literary education: concept and limits. Crossover literature and young adult fiction.

The juvenile reader. Literature for young people in digital environments. Transmedia in literature.

Genres in juvenile literature: narrative, poetry, theatre and graphic literature (albums, graphic novels, comics, etc.).

The classics of Spanish and universal literature for teenagers.

Canon and selection criteria for juvenile readings.

5.

The representation of gender stereotypes in juvenile literature. Identities and genres in the literatures for adolescents

Research in juvenile literature: theories and approaches.

4. Academic activities
Master classes 30 hours.
Theoretical-practical sessions in which the contents of the subject will be explained.
Practical classes 22 hours.
Participation in lectures and discussions.
Practical activities: critical reflection, mastery of literary discourse and contribution of a bibliographic search and scientific research
Presentation of individual works of literary works of different literary genres and essays.
Organization of conferences or seminars with guest speakers.
Teaching assignments: 23 hours.
Individual study: 72 hours.
Assessment tests. 3 hours.
5. Assessment system
In order to pass this subject it will be necessary to pass (minimum 5 out of 10 in each one) the following tests:
1. Practical assignments and student portfolio (50%).
Individual practical class assignments.
Individual portfolio: readings, reviews, comments, presentation, critical analysis, on the contents of the subject and corpus of readings worked in class
Evaluation criteria:
Adequacy, clarity, richness and depth of the critical analysis, ability to collect class activities, deepen fundamental theories, models, principles and bibliography.
2. Individual work of reading and analysis of a literary work (50%)
Written work: 40%, presentation and defence: 10%.
Evaluation criteria:
Theoretical foundation. Originality, critical reflection. Quality and correctness of the written expression and bibliography used.
Design of didactic activities and communication skills.
GLOBAL TEST AND SUBSEQUENT CALLS
The same tests and evaluation criteria will be applied as in the first call. In addition, there will be a written test of theoretical and practical character (50%) that will consist of: definition of concepts of literary theory and juvenile literature, text commentary, development of a general topic.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
